Shopify Summit 2020
Art Direction, Brand Identity, Experiential Design
Summit is an annual event hosted by Shopify for all employees. The goal is to come together, meet new people, connect with your coworkers, and look ahead at what’s to come for Shopify. The branding of Summit changes every year to express one of Shopify’s main values of experimentation, but to also surprise, delight, and engage with employees so they venture into the next year with inspired minds. This year, the visuals were built around some core themes of Shopify’s values — ambition and grit.
My responsibilities for this years Summit was to design the logo, provide art direction towards physical spaces and elements and activities such as the registration table, activations, and “News Desk,” which was an installation to interview attendees and product speakers and stream it to anyone who was tuning in remotely.
Team: Summit 2020 was created by the Culture Design Team (Mandira Midha, Rachel Lin, Megan Rosen, Sydney Selch, and Marissa Korda) and executed by Mosaic.

Mission Statement Pennant
Illustration, Print Design
Shopify’s mission statement is something that drives all internal culture. When the offices were still open, the mission statements were seen everywhere and even shown in the highest regard. Each office had their own, and they came in the form of giant custom signs, murals and installations. These were proud pieces that employees new and old would take photos of and share with family and friends.
When the offices closed in 2020, I was tasked to create the new mission statement piece. Something that all employees could proudly display in their homes, and something that could fit into any remote work environment. The design is influenced by vintage pennants, but made modern with a monoweight script. The mountain is a prolific piece of cultural imagery that is often referenced at summit and when discussing the future of the company. The incredible Oxford Pennant was sourced to execute the design.
